Gluten Free Pain au Chocolat

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 sheet GF Puff Pastry dough
  • 1/3 cup chopped dark chocolate
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp water
  • powdered sugar (Optional)

Instructions
 

  • Thaw GF puff pastry to room temperature
  • Heat oven to 350 degrees F
  • Lightly dust a flat surface with Gluten Free flour
  • Roll out the dough to 1/4" thick
  • Fold the dough, and roll out again. Repeat this at least 2 times
  • Put dough in fridge to chill for 7 minutes
  • Roll the dough out into a rectangle
  • Use a pizza cutter to make long rectangles with the dough
  • Place the chocolate at one end of the dough and roll it. Make it flat not round
  • Place on baking sheet
  • Whisk together the egg and water in a small bowl to make an egg wash
  • Brush dough with egg wash
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes
  • Boil for 2 minutes if you want the tops brown
  • Dush with powedered sugar (optional)
