Gluten Free Pain au Chocolat

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 sheet GF Puff Pastry dough
  • 1/3 cup chopped dark chocolate
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp water
  • powdered sugar (Optional)

Method
 

  1. Thaw GF puff pastry to room temperature
  2. Heat oven to 350 degrees F
  3. Lightly dust a flat surface with Gluten Free flour
  4. Roll out the dough to 1/4" thick
  5. Fold the dough, and roll out again. Repeat this at least 2 times
  6. Put dough in fridge to chill for 7 minutes
  7. Roll the dough out into a rectangle
  8. Use a pizza cutter to make long rectangles with the dough
  9. Place the chocolate at one end of the dough and roll it. Make it flat not round
  10. Place on baking sheet
  11. Whisk together the egg and water in a small bowl to make an egg wash
  12. Brush dough with egg wash
  13. Bake for 20-25 minutes
  14. Boil for 2 minutes if you want the tops brown
  15. Dush with powedered sugar (optional)
