At a recent family function we were told to bring “a snack to share”. To me this meant some sort of appetizer, Gluten Free of course so I knew there would be at least one thing I could eat. I hit my favorite recipe sites and come up with BLT Dip. The concept sounded intriguing – mostly because I LOVE bacon! I served the dip with GF corn chips and regular ritz crackers for the Gluten eaters. It was a huge hit! I barely had any to take home and my mom even wanted me to leave her some. This is a keeper!
So here is what I came up with!
What You Need:
1 cup sour cream
3/4 cup mayo
4 oz cream cheese
1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
1 lb cooked and crumbled bacon (3/4 for the dip and 1/4 for topping)
1 tbsp GF ranch dressing
1 large diced roma tomato (3/4 for the dip and 1/4 for topping)
Onion salt
How to Make It:
Mix all ingredients together except the tomato and 1/4 of the bacon together. Refrigerate over night. About 30 minutes before serving mix in 3/4 of the tomatoes. Then decorate the top with the remaining bacon and tomatoes.
