Gluten Free Pound Cake

Homemade Gluten Free Pound Cake, yes you can!  That is right folks, this is a simple recipe to make homemake pound cake that will put any Gluten-filled pound cake to shame.  This is a perfect dessert to take to gatherings to prove that Gluten Free desserts can be enjoyed by all.

Gluten Free Lemon Pound Cake

For this recipe I chose to use Bloomfield Farms All Purpose Baking Mix for the Gluten Free flour.  I like how it tastes, the texture is very fine and it browns, unlike many Gluten Free blends.  Bloomfield Farms has a number of other baking mixes like cookie mix, cornbread and pizza crust.  We have tried them all and keep at least one in our pantry at all times.  Here are other recipes using Bloomfield Farms baking mixes: Cornbread Stuffing and Donuts.

Gluten free Pound Cake

That is how simple it can be.  This recipe has a hint of lemon from the lemon zest.  If you want a stronger lemon flavor add a teaspoon or two of fresh lemon zest.  You can also make an orange flavored pound cake with orange zest.

Many readers have asked where to get Bloomfield Farms mixes, so here is the link from there website.  Just put in your zip code and it will let you know what retailer is close to you.  You can also buy them online.

Enjoy!

I’m assuming if you don’t want lemon flavor, you can just omit and have texture the same way?! I love lemon flavor but not for use in a strawberry trifle I make

The lemon can be omitted if you want, however it is very subtle and would pair perfectly with strawberries.

    Pam,
Is the Bloomfield Farms All Purpose Baking Mix like a GF Bisquick mix or a cake mix? I don’t think I have access to that brand and was wondering what I could substitute.
    Thanks,
    Julie

What flours are in the Bloomfield mix? I don’t have that, but I have a few other mixes.

It is a rice flour blend. You can use any GF cup for cup flour blend for this recipe!

I’m curios we use Bob’s Red Mill 1-1 flour so I’m thinking it must be the same as the Flour you have in the recipe
