If you are looking for Gluten Free onion rings, mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, and chicken tenders in North Carolina just head to Judges Riverside in Morganton. This gem of a restaurant is on the banks of a river about 3 minutes off of HWY 40. Don’t let the pink and purple sign fool you, this restaurant makes some tasty food.
The menu does not have a Gluten Free section nor does it even mention their beautiful fried Gluten Free goodness. You just need to ask your server or the manager about the options. They use a separate fryer and hand coat the items in a finely ground corn flour. It may take a littler longer for them to heat up the oil, but the food is totally worth it.
We ordered the fried pickle plate and an appetizer sampler plate that included the onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and chicken tenders. All of it was amazing and everything you want in fried food. If you in the mood for fried food just head to Judges!
My grandmother lived in Morganton, and we used to always eat at Judges when we would visit her. I’m so happy to know they have gluten free options and will definitely check this out on my next visit. I’m especially excited about the mozzarella sticks
