It’s#GFreefor6 party time! During January we will spotlight some awesome Gluten Free brands and have loads of giveaways.
Let’s talk seasoning with Just a Little Spice. This is a new North Carolina company that is rewriting the book on spices. Not only are they organic, non-GMO, sugar free, kosher, all natural but also Gluten Free! Sauces and seasoning are notorious for hiding gluten so it is great to find a brand that gets it and creates safe products for our community.
They have an extensive list of spices and products available. Some highlights include:
- Cinnamon
- Tumeric
- Basil
- Tyme
- Granulated Garlic
- Granulated Onion
- Cayenne
- Italian Seasoning
We received 4 spices to play with: Granulated Onion, Herbes De Provence, Granulated Garlic and Ground Cinnamon. So far we have tried 3 of the 4 spices and I have been very pleased with how well they cook and season food. Not only is the taste of these spices on point but the aroma while cooking is very enticing.
I used the granulated garlic for baked chicken burritos, the granulated garlic on pork chops and the cinnamon with apples.
Here is how to whip up some tasty cinnamon apples. They are great on their own or on top of pancakes!
Ingredients
- 2 apples, peeled and sliced
- 3 tbsp salted butter
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp white sugar
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the butter and allow it to melt.
- Add in the sliced apples and seasoning.
- Cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently
You can order the spices online or find them in health food stores.
