Gluten Free Apple Fritters

Here is a simple recipe to make Gluten Free Apple Fritters.

Enjoy apple fritters again with this gluten free recipe

To be honest, you can never go wrong with fried dough. And if you add apples and cinnamon you take it to a whole new level. This magic creates: Gluten Free Apple Fritters.

On a recent school field trip, our oldest made apple fritters. Of course they were the gluten-filled kind. She absolutely loved them and came home asking for them. I couldn’t remember the last time I had an apple fritter, it has to be at least 8 years! On a recent Saturday morning, we didn’t have anywhere to be so we had the perfect opportunity to attempt Gluten Free Apple Fritters.

Simple Gluten Free Apple Fritters

I searched Pinterest for some inspiration and some recipe ideas. I couldn’t find a Gluten Free version that looked good. All the gluten-filled recipes looked amazing, but I knew my dough would do better as balls instead of the traditional flat type. I also figured they would cook faster and I only have a small deep fryer.

We ended up with around 15 apple fritters from this recipe. I lost count because my “taste testers” were eating them so quickly. I literally had to kick them out of the kitchen just so I could take pictures.

These were an absolute hit! We all loved them and there wasn’t even a crumb left on the plate.

TIPS

Dice up the apples into very small pieces, they will go further

Make sure the oil is hot enough, or they will be soggy

You can dip the apple fritters directly into the glaze if you find that is easier, I went for the drizzle method

We do not fry food very much so these Gluten Free Apple Fritters were a real treat for our family. We have a very small deep fryer so I could only cook 3-4 at a time. If you don’t have a deep fryer, you could just heat up the oil in a deep skillet.

Since our deep fryer was already out… we decided to have onion rings and fried chicken tenders for lunch. It was all fabulous!

After we rolled ourselves away from the table, we hit the woods for a 3 mile hike. I’m pretending the hike zeroed out all the caleries from the apple fritters, onion rings and chicken tenders!

Enjoy
