Then it was stir fry night. I love my $4 wok from Ikea. If you have a chance buy one – makes cooking stir fry so much easier!
I picked up a jar of Nutella during my last grocery trip. I have been enjoying it on toast and waffles for breakfast this week! Chocolate in a spreadable form – ummm YES!
Our deviation from the menu was dinner at Red Robin. I heart being able to eat a cheeseburger with a Gluten Free bun and fries.
I have a non- GF friendly conference this week and a flight coming up in a month. So I wanted some on the go Gluten Free meals on hand. I turned to GoPicnic to meet the need. They don’t have to be refrigerated and they are a complete meal in a small little box. The price isn’t bad but shipping is expensive so if you can find them in a local store buy them. They have GF and gluten versions.
Saturday we had friends over for a cook out. Love grilled chicken!
Sunday night we visited a local restaurant for dinner. They did have GF bread available for sandwiches and said they could grill a steak on foil to avoid cross contamination. I decided to go with a salad and baked potato to be simple.
This week is full of work, a conference, and chasing kiddos. I’m also heading up to DC for a quick trip Friday and Saturday. So if you have any GF suggestions for Northern VA, DC, or Maryland I’d love to hear them!
Pam,
I have LOTS of recommendations for Gluten Free in the DC area! There is a great place in Fairfax called “Choices by Shawn” – they have THE BEST gluten free carrot cake. The first thing they ask when you get to the hostess station is “Is anyone in your party dining gluten free?” – Love it!
The Great American restaurants (Mike’s in Springfield, VA; Coastal Flats in Fairfax Corner; Sweetwater in Centreville) all have gluten free menus and was a favorite of mine before I was gluten free so LOVE that!
Chef Geoff’s in DC is great- they have an extensive gluten free menu.
Carey!
Thanks for the awesome suggestions!! I’ll let you know if I’m able to hit any of your GF spots!
You Rock!
PS – if you get to Manassas- check out our ALL GLUTEN FREE space(Inner Circle Foods) within HomeStore at 9720 Liberia Avenue. Would love for you to see it!
They stock a few varieties of the go picnic meals at my Target – even had them on sale when I got them a couple weeks ago š just watch out for cross contamination, some of the stuff they include is processed on shared equipment!
