When it comes to snacks are you a sweet, salty or both kind of person? Do you prefer cookies to chips? Do you sit and munch on popcorn or candy? Personally I’m more of a salty snacker. I lean towards carbs and balance them with a touch of sweet.
I was recently introduced to a new company called Goldbaums. They make a number of Gluten Free products like pasta, snacks, ice cream cones, crackers, chips, and meals. I was super lucky to land a box of their products to try. One item that jumped out at me were the Gluten Free Chow Mein noodles! I haven’t had these in years!
With the Chow Mein noodles I was ready to create the perfect salty and sweet treat! These do contain nuts and peanut butter so you may need to adjust accordingly. Here is how you make Gluten Free Chocolate Haystacks.
What You Need
1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup peanuts
2 cups GF Chow Mein Noodles – I used Goldbaums
How To Make It
In a microwave safe bowl melt the chocolate and peanut butter together. Use half power and cook for 30 intervals then stir until melted. It took me 1 minute. Gently stir in peanuts and Chow Mein Noodles. Spoon onto wax paper to cool. Place in plastic container and store in refrigerator until ready to serve.
These have a great crunch to them! The salty peanuts go great with the sweet chocolate and smooth peanut butter. I took these to work and my co-workers loved them. Danger- you can’t eat just one and you will get chocolaty fingers!
Enjoy!

Chocolaty fingers? That’s a chance I’m willing to take! š I’m sure these would be just as delicious by just substituting sunflower butter and sunflower seeds, for those who can’t eat nuts. Yum! š
