Our family is just entering the world of school lunches and I have been blown away by how daunting of a task it is! We have two kids in full day pre-school and a daughter in Kindergarten. This means three lunches and three snacks need to be made five days a week. That comes out to 15 lunches and 15 snacks just for ONE WEEK of school! Not to mention the twins are Gluten Sensitive and the five year old is a picky eater. Enter MOMables, my secret to packing school lunches!
Here is how it works: you sign up for the monthly service and every week you will have access to a week’s worth of lunches. The guide comes with lunch menus, side dish ideas, family meals and a shopping list for all the dishes. There is a Classic Plan and a Grain Free Plan. The Classic Plan has Gluten Free options while the Grain Free Plan is great for Gluten Free and Paleo families.
Our family has been enjoying the Grain Free Plan. Every week we get fresh ideas for our kiddos lunches that come with awesome photos. Granted our lunches never look this pretty!
Here is what I love about MOMables:
1 – It gives me ideas for lunches
2 – The recipes are easy and have basic instructions
3 – I can customize them to meet the tastes of our kiddos
4 – It makes lunch fun for the kiddos
*As an added bonus the lunch lady actually told me how the teachers were bragging on our kids lunches! Major cool mom points for that!
Now for the price tag…. MOMables only costs $8.00 a month or $79 for the year (the best deal!). All of the weekly menus can be downloaded and saved for later. You can easily pick and choose what dishes to make and which ones to skip. In my opinion this is a small price to pay to help me solve the school lunch challenge.

Both kids have Celiac, and my daughter has dairy allergies, finding a variety is difficult. Especially since the school will not allow anything to be heated.

Thanks for this info!!! I will definitely be checking it out. My biggest issue with packing lunches is that my kids want the same thing every day and I have been trying to figure out an easy way to make a plan to change it up!! This looks awesome!

My biggest challenge is that I run out of lunch ideas 🙂

I love MOMables! They have the best ideas. I’m making their mini pumpkin pancakes this weekend.

Besides variety, I want to make sure that the girls are trying new things every so often along with getting a (mostly) balanced meal…I have one girl who would eat all fruits and veggies (and be hungry in 10 minutes) and another who goes for carbs (ugh) and yet another who changes her mind every 10 minutes hee hee
