This past weekend Tampa had a great Gluten Free event hosted by Gluten Free and More Magazine. I was very excited to leave cold North Carolina for the sunny 76 degree days of Florida. This Fest was super special for me because I got to share the demo stage and lecture stage with one of my best GF buddies, Cindy from Vegetarian Mamma. You can see our menu here for the 4 dishes we made on stage, that is right we made 4 items in under 35 minutes!
Let’s talk about the food finds:
Tourfayan rocked the show with their brand new, just printed the bags last Monday, Pita Chips! That is right Gluten Free pita chips! We grabbed 3 bags Saturday and devoured them Saturday night poolside with hummus and at a restaurant with salsa. Find them and enjoy them.
The Dairy free options rocked this Fest, enter So Delicious and Coconut Bliss.
So Delicious carries a ton of Gluten Free and Dairy free products. I like their coconut milk in my morning smoothies.
Coconut Bliss had some amazing dairy free ice cream to sample. The salted caramel and chocolate flavor was my favorite.
Chocolate Pate Dessert brought us Sin in a Can. The name is super fun and the chocolate goodness inside will make your tummy happy. This chocolate dessert is Gluten Free and only has 5 ingredients.
Garden Lites was sampling 4 of their tasty products. I think I ate a box full of the Broccoli and Brown Rice bites in samples.
NoGii had some new flavors to try at the Fest. I had the Cookies and Cream for breakfast on Sunday – tasty!
Here is a great video showing the awesome Gluten Free vendors!
The people at the Fest made the trip extra special! I love hanging out with Gluten Free people! They are just too much fun, understand my struggles and make me laugh so hard I cry.
Jules from GFJules blows my mind with her knowledge and I got to meet her mom and dad on this trip. Now I know why Jules rocks so much.
Taylor from Gluten Away was at the Fest as a lecturer and a vendor. He is a cool kid who can relate to so many young Gluten Free people.
Wanna eat out Gluten Free in the Tampa/ Lakeland area?
A huge bonus about traveling is trying new Gluten Free restaurants. On this trip I was able to hit two awesome places.
Burger 21 creates crafted burgers, shakes and fries. They have GF buns and a dedicated fryer!! You know I was in heaven! They also have a TON of GF dips for your fries. I enjoyed a bacon cheeseburger and shared a pound of half and half french fries.
We also enjoyed dinner at Tony Studio B‘s. This fun joint is in downtown Lakeland. We talked directly to the chef and she went over all the menu items that were Gluten Free. I know you are all surprised to know I had the bacon and maple syrup as my appetizer! I ordered the zoodles and shared the veggie kabobs with Cindy.
Hope to see you at one of the next Gluten Free Food Allergy Fests!
