Chrystal Carver has created a Gluten Free baking cookbook that is easy to follow and the recipes have 10 ingredients or less. That is my kind of Gluten Free baking! Sweet and Simple Gluten-Free Baking is a wonderful guide for the Gluten Free baker at any skill level. The recipes are easy to follow and the book has gorgeous photos for all the recipes.
The cookbook includes: cakes, cupcakes, breads, cheesecakes, pies, tarts, cookies, brownies, bars and frosting. So basically anything you want to make you can find in this cookbook. And for real the ingredients lists are 10 items or less.
I have had the pleasure of spending time with Chrystal and she is as sweet as her recipes.
As soon as I got home with the cookbook I immediately flipped through to see what I could make. With some ripe bananas as my inspiration I turned to page 23 and found Banana Muffins. I had all the ingredients so I was ready to bake. I decided to make the recipe in a loaf pan rather than muffins tins, so it took a little longer to cook, but I followed the recipe besides that change. We did take her Optional Ingredients suggestion and added some GF chocolate chips.
The end result was tasty and moist banana bread! The twins and I inhaled this bread in no time. I can’t wait to make more tasty treats from Chrystal’s book.
